Lacie and Brian were married at the Crab Orchard Vinyard on what was perhaps one of the rainiest days I have ever experienced! Rain aside, the ceremony and reception were beautiful. Besides, polka dot umbrellas are fun!

Marybeth and Matt had a beautiful winter wedding (complete with snowfall!) on December 18th, 2009, but I loved their engagement session so much I still wanted to share a few of their images.

and the winner isssssss …………
Lyndsey and Brad!!
Congratulations to you both!
Here is their original contest entry:
Brad and I have a unique way of how we met. He actually had dated a friend of mine for a short time. One day he was on Facebook, when he saw my picture and decided to “friend” me. The funny thing about how we met was that I am the type of girl that NEVER accepts random “friend requests” especially from strangers. However, with the coaxing of my roommate, I decided to at least message him. And well, I guess the rest is history.
Probably our most funniest, as well as romantic moment was when Brad proposed to me!! Brad is a wedding videographer here in Virginia. He had been begging me to be is “model” in a “trash the dress” video shoot he wanted to do, to promote this sort of work to his clients. I finally decided I would give in and help him with it, because of course it would be fun dressing up for it. The day of the shoot Brad had another videographer and photographer come. I questioned him as to why they were coming as well and Brad explained that he wanted them to shoot as well. He told me he wanted to incorporate all of the footage together. I thought it was weird and a little awkward in the beginning, because there were 3 guys with cameras surrounding me, but I tried to relax and have fun. And as the day went on, I did not think of it anymore. As the day went by, I was really enjoying the shoot, we had been shooting in old buildings, a restaurant, and other unique places in the town; until the end when we went to the park. At the park there was a river and so I got some shots in the river and we were about to call it a day when Brad came towards me in the water. I freaked out because I thought they had planned for him to dunk me, because I noticed he didn’t have his camera in hand. I kept yelling at him to stop and not come towards me, because I didn’t want to be dunked. He just gave me this confused face, until he finally took my hand and pulled out a piece of paper. He very nervously told me how much he loved me (and of course other sweet things!) and then asked me to be his wife! I was shocked/excited/happy all the same time. It was the perfect, yet most unique way to be proposed to. Looking back I laugh because of how I never saw the signs or even thought anything of it, having 2 videographers and a photographer. Yes, Brad definitely suckered me into that shoot, just so he could ask me to marry him, and I am totally glad he did. ☺
I think that Brad & I should win the photography contest because after going to tons of weddings with Brad (since he is a wedding videographer) I feel it is our turn. I am so very excited to be planning our wedding and having our special day. We have got to share many wonderful “best day of life” experiences with many people and we would love to be able to have our special day remembered by your photos! We love to be different and unique, we feel your style definitely suits us!
