Frequently Asked Q’s
Q: How long after the wedding will I have to wait to see my images?
A: During wedding season (Spring, Summer, and early Fall), you can expect to have your online gallery available 6-8 weeks after your wedding day. The DVD will be mailed as soon as the online gallery is available. If a proof magazine is included with your package, you will receive it at the same time you receive your DVD.
Q: How many photos will we see?
A: Solo sessions will yield 100-150 proofs, while weddings will yield approximately 400-600 final images.
Q: How does the album process work?
A: I will draft an initial custom design draft for you to see online. You will be able to request any needed revisions to this design, giving you final creative control over the look of your album! Album design time runs 2-3 weeks, while album production time is 4-6 weeks. (each sitation may vary)
Q: How do we book Mandi as our wedding photographer?
A: Contact me to obtain a copy of my wedding contract. Both the signed contract and a non-refundable retainer fee of $1000.00 (subtracted from package price) are required to secure your wedding date. The second payment is due 60 days before your wedding and the final payment is due 30 days before your wedding.
Q: What methods of payment are accepted?
A: I accept cash, personal check, or credit/debit card
Q: What does my money buy?
A: A significant number of hours are put into each individual wedding before, during, and after the wedding day. Here is a breakdown of my time commitments from an average wedding:
- Pre-wedding meetings and on-site planning meetings (if applicable) (2-3 hours)
- Photographing the wedding (6 – 14 hours, don’t forget I often drive 1+ hours to and from the location!)
- Photographing bridal, engagement, or trash the dress (2-6 hours)
- Editing all images and set up of online galleries (20-40 hours)
- Album designs, revisions, and ordering process (15-30 hours)
- Print and order fulfillments (5-15 hours)
This does not take into account retail value of actual product delivered (albums, prints, proof magazines, etc)
Q: Are all of the images I receive on my high resolution DVD edited?
A: In short, yes. All images are edited for exposure, contrast and sharpness and color tone. They are print ready. You will also receive approximately 100 special edits featuring Mandi’s signature style.
Q: If I received a DVD of images, why should I order prints, canvas or albums from Mandi?
A: All images that are printed (paper and canvas) through Mandi or put in an album designed by Mandi are edited even further than the images on the DVD. Blemishes, under eye circles, and annoying fly-away hairs are fixed. These images are also edited stylistically. This means that Mandi’s signature editing technique is applied to the images. The images seen on Mandi’s blog and website are examples of how your final images will look in albums and prints.
Q: Do you offer the option of a second photographer?
A: Absolutely! 2nd shooters are included as standard in my Basic package
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: I shoot with the professional line of Nikon digital SLR cameras. At full resolution, digital image files can produce stunning prints up to 40×60 and beyond (I recommend canvas for larger prints). I use a variety type of lenses including zoom, wide-aperture primes, macro and extreme wide angles.
Q: Do you photograph using a standard shot list?
A: Every wedding is a unique occurrence. While every precaution is taken to get the shots each couple feels are important, it is especially important to me to shoot by feeding off the differences and special features of each wedding. Although some ideas may be repeated, I am always excited to stretch the boundaries and strive to capture each wedding in a unique and beautiful way. However, because I realize there are certain family and group shots that are a part of every wedding, I simply ask that someone be prepared to gather groups during family photo time. If a list is helpful, make a list. It is very important for each person to know when he or she should be available for these portraits in order to maximize every single minute.
Q: Can I order prints online?
A: Absolutely, and so can your friends and family! Every client receives an online password-protected gallery. The gallery is also a nifty shopping cart, making ordering prints fast and easy!
